Through Leicester.

Saturday 5th May
On Thursday afternoon Kev had an email from CRT to say the river Soar was out of flood, so we decided to move away from Sileby, it was around 3pm when we let go and set off, we had a pleasant cruise as the weather was quite nice with hardly a breeze at all and when we arrived at the visitor moorings at Burstall we moored for the night.
Yesterday morning we had an early start, I went to Burstall lock to get it ready for Kev and once he had come up level in the lock we got Jaz off and I walked with her to Belgrave lock where we both got back on board. From here Kev worked the locks through Leicester.
New flats here.
Plenty of debris at the weir.
New moorings with electric hook ups, though not working at the moment so the man on one of the moored boats informed us!
Castle garden moorings to the left.
Some nice bridges along the way.

Plenty of new buildings since the last time we were through Leicester.
Leaving the lock at the football ground.
We carried on and when we got through Gees lock we moored for a sandwich. We were helped through the previous 2 locks as there were some CRT men doing some inspection work on the locks. When we got to Kilby we moored opposite the water point and services.  We had a shower and then had a walk over Kilby canal bridge to the Navigation pub with Jaz and sat outside for a couple of beers. We will pull across to the services tomorrow for water etc. before we leave.
A beautiful morning here today so the washer is on!
These two enjoying the sunshine!
